The evolution of the T-Touch brand

Tissot are a Swiss watch brand that is steeped in history with over 150 years of watch manufacturing experience. Tissot is a Swiss name that was associated with classic design and dateless fashion. However, the 00â€™s was the start of a shift in the Tissot watch brandâ€™s market position. With the advent of the T-Touch, a step into the unknown was taken by Tissot that would prove to be a touch of genius by those behind the creation of this watch.

The T-Touch was the first watch to blend Swiss timekeeping with the new advancements in technology. The T-Touch used the famous Swiss ETA movement and blended this with state of the art tactile technology. This resulted in the creation of the T-Touch watch. The T-Touch uses split screen technology to give data to the owner with a simple activation of the screen.

Tissot has turned a revolutionary concept into a reality. The early T-Touch took the market place by storm, the watches were initially only made in steel and it did have some early problems such as its difficulty in recalibrating and its lack of water resistance. However, Tissot worked on these problems and corrected the calibration problem in the original T-Touch. As well as this, Tissot launched a standalone website that gives owners of T-Touch watches in-depth information on how to use the T-Touch to its best abilities. Tissot also added a new range of T-Touches that were cased in Titanium which made the Titanium T-Touches ultra light weight and durable. The second issue of water resistance was finally solved in late 2008 with the creation of the T-Touch Expert. This is a watch that is not only 100 meters water resistant but also has a multitude of extra functions on it to boot. The Expert was initially launched in Titanium only, with an option to have either a Titanium bracelet or rubber strap with Titanium push button clasp.

The watch fair in Basel in 2009 has seen the T-Touch watch brand expand even further with the launch of the Sea Touch, the Steel T-Touch Expert and a new aeronautical T-Touch to be released later in the year. The T-Touch brand is now almost separate to that of the Tissot brand and the constant success of the T-Touch is cementing the Tissot brand in the recreational watch market. We are positive that there is much more to come from the Tissot brand in the future.
